Qualified to teach both recreational dance students and competition team dance students Acro mat work, tricks and tumbling. Students range from age 6 – 17. Must be able to create clean and well choreographed recital routines. Abilities to teach other dance styles a plus. Students are very excited for these classes. Possible extra classes and tumbling workshops over the summer and regular dance season may also be available!

Responsibilities include teaching a weekly class based on traditional and popular dances from around the world in one of our partnering Boston Public Schools, and choreographing pieces in the techniques and cultural background of the dance styles from places such as Central and South America, West Africa, India and the Caribbean along with urban dance styles such as Hip Hop
Minimum qualifications:
BA in a related field (education, arts, etc)
3 years of work experience teaching
Preferred qualifications:
5 years of relevant work experience, including teaching, dancing and choreographing
Knowledgeable about cultural dances from places such as Central and South America, West Africa, India and the Caribbean
Experience working with English Language Learners and students with special needs
Reliable, adaptable and patient

You would instruct a breakdancing technique class that encourages musicality and freestyle. We are looking for a person who is passionate about the power of breakdancing, the culture and history behind the style, and creating a friendly, nourishing educational environment. Responsibilities include providing once a week instruction in breakdancing for students ages 9+ (1 hour class), choreographing 1 two minute dance for our end of year Student Showcase.
