Boston Dance Alliance is launching a fiscal sponsorship program in
the fall of 2006.
The Fiscal Sponsorship Program offered by BDA enables performing artists
and groups to accumulate the funds they need to make their artistic
and career goals a reality. Sponsorship provides independent performing
artists and groups [dance related] with:
Eligibility to apply for most government, foundation, and corporate
grants which require a 501 (c) 3, not-for-profit status;
Eligibility to receive tax-deductible donations of money from individuals
where 501(c) 3 status is necessary.
In addition participants in this program will gain access to workshops
focusing on both visions and plans for the future and the legal issues
associated with forming corporations
For all monies raised up to $5,000 BDA deducts 10% of the contribution
for administrative and accounting costs with the balance paid to the
member as an artist fee. All funds raised above $5,000 and BDA will
deduct a lower %.
