Kate’s contemporary class welcomes adults of all ages! Transitions and articulations are continual themes as we learn to move from place to another, speaking the language of movement with well prepared, happy bodies.
Kate teaches at Boston University and Dancing Arts Center, among others. Her dance career has taken her from St. Petersburg, Russia to the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. After receiving her BA in Dance from Bennington College, she worked professionally as a dancer, choreographer and dance educator in Europe for 20 years where she founded and directed Breseedansekompani. Her positive approach encourages and challenges each student to explore and develop their own musicality, coordination and love of movement.

Pradhuman Nayak is teaching Kalaripayattu Yoga at The Breathing Room! (763 Mass Ave, #7 - entrance is between Life Alive and 1369 cafe in Central Square)
Classes are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 2-3pm through the end of April.
Each class will be limited to seven people, so you’re guaranteed personal attention in an ancient form.
THE CLASS: The kalaripayattu namaskar follows a sequence of movements drawn from the ancient South Indian martial art form of kalaripayattu, which legend traces back some three thousand years to the sage Parasumara — and which the British banned in the 19th century to discourage rebellion.
The yoga of kalari payat is meant to pull the energy of the sun into the body and build strength, balance, awareness and focus. Pradhuman’s class builds from gentle stretching to vigorous movement and will leave you feeling open and connected.
No mats will be necessary.
THE INVESTMENT:
- $15 at the door (space permitting)
- $10 if you pre-register at: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=J73Z66LYQW6D6
