Urbanity Dance is transforming its studio space into a curated gallery exploring movement. The space will explore how movement is translated into 2D and 3D works of art, how movement and performance can be incorporated into visual arts, and how visual arts can be translated back into movement making itself. The space will feature Boston based visual artists, with performances by Urbanity Dance throughout the evening. Viewers will get an inside look into Urbanity Dance’s process, current works, and have a chance to speak to Company dancers and choreographers about their process. The evening will highlight the breadth of what can be considered movement, inviting Boston artists to share their own insights and works. Viewers will be able to explore movement through multiple mediums and engage in conversation and networking about the Boston dance and visual arts scenes. Light refreshments will be served.
