Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone and Ward 2 City Councilor J.T. Scott invite you to a community meeting to talk about ArtFarm – a former waste transfer site on Poplar St. being transformed into a home for arts, culture, community, and urban agriculture.

ArtFarm is an experiment. ArtFarm is Somerville’s proposal for our next great public space: a self-sustaining art and urban agriculture laboratory designed to foster community engagement and creativity.  The 2.1 acre site at 10 Poplar St. will serve as a park, urban agriculture site, and arts hub featuring the ArtFarm community center with performance and exhibit spaces. All of these amenities will sit atop important stormwater tank and pump infrastructure that will help alleviate urban flooding. Set in a neighborhood lacking in open space, the project aims to serve both the immediate neighborhood and all city residents in a dynamic and sustainable way.
