Artists Wangechi Mutu and Okwui Okpokwasili each uncover narratives on collective actions and struggles in projects on view at the ICA this season. Okpokwasili’s multidisciplinary performance Poor People’s TV Room explores resistance movements boldly set forth by Nigerian women, while Mutu’s installation A Promise to Communicate empowers visitors to share messages in a work signifying a crisis in communication.
