Calligraphy, or the art of writing, was the visual art form prized above all others in traditional of Chinese Culture. As a form of expression, it is a complex fusion of opposites; it is both of visual and verbal, sharp yet soft, polished yet rough, and strong yet supple. These characteristics are represented in our performance group, which comprises both male and female performers. Their techniques complement each other, joining to form the full spectrum of grace and power, and creating a magnificent synthesis of movement that brings the spirit of calligraphy to life.
