Trishul: Dancing Trident is a collaborative Bharatanatyam project of NATyA Dance Collective that reflects upon the symbolism of the trident in ancient Hindu and Greek mythology. The evening-length work focuses on Shiva, Poseidon, and Durga, for whom the trident is a source of creative and destructive power. Trishul also explores the relationships between the self, the divine, and the Other to reveal the more subtle symbolism of the trinity materialized in the trident, transcending dualism and non-dualism. Join us to watch artists from the greater Boston area performing original, collaborative choreography to an eclectic musical score of Carnatic, jazz, and world music.

Featuring: Smitha Radhakrishnan, Umesh Venkatesan, Rayna Rampalli, Aditi Subramaniam, Divya Satischandra, Arya Shekar, and Usha Narayana
