CALL TO DANCE ARTISTS 2011/12 Boston Dance Alliance Rehearsal and Retreat Fellowship
What is the BDA Rehearsal and Retreat Fellowship? The BDA Rehearsal and Retreat Fellowship’s goals are to strengthen artists’ work by giving them uninterrupted time to focus on their choreography. We intend that providing rehearsal pay to dancers will enable choreographers to increase the number of hours of rehearsal which will lead to more fully realized work. The ultimate goal is to have an impact on the quality of work created in Greater Boston. Selected participants will have the opportunity to determine when during the creation of new work a three day retreat will prove the most beneficial to the choreographic process. While BDA has set a suggested minimum hourly fee for the dancers, this is open to some negotiation with the fellows.
