The Operations and Resource Manager at The Dance Complex –
• Reports to the Executive Director

• Supervises and supports program goals, events, and deliverables
• Ensures smooth running of the daily operations

Franklin School for the Performing Arts looking for an advanced level jazz instructor to teach various styles of jazz for students age 15-18.

Melrose Youth Ballet, a non-profit community based ballet company is looking to fill the position of “Artistic Director” for its 2016 Nutcracker season. In its 22nd season, MYB casts over 200 dancers each September for its annual Nutcracker production. The vast majority of roles are filled by dancers age 8-18 through open audition. Cast is comprised of dancers from various dance studios/ballet establishments in the Greater Boston area. All dancers who audition receive a role. Select lead and principal roles are danced by hired professional guest artists who vary from season to season.

Position is for current season, September ’16 to December ’16. Nutcracker performances are Friday 12/2 to Sunday 12/4. Compensation for this position is a contracted salary, not an hourly wage. Nutcracker season is 10 weeks long. Salary is based upon candidate’s experience and is negotiable. The Somerville Public Schools is looking for a dynamic educator to lead the Dance Program’s first year! It is a great opportunity to be involved and have influence in the direction of the program and teach the its first students. This position has a great opportunity for increased teaching responsibilities as this is our first year running the Boston Ballet’s ECI on location at our Middle Schools. When these students arrive at the High School, they will be ready to enroll in our Dance Program! Additionally, a new Somerville High School will be completed in 2020 with state-of-the-art performance and practice venues.

Course Description
In this introductory course, students will strengthen their self-esteem, explore their personal creativity, and broaden their sense of self-expression through the study of various dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Hip-Hop, Contemporary and Ballroom dance.

Citi Performing Arts Center is seeking a Dance Teaching Artist Assistant for the 2016 City Spotlights Leadership Program. The City Spotlights Leadership Program is a youth employment program that employs 62 Boston and Everett resident teens, with little to no arts access, to train as leaders in their communities through the arts.

The Teaching Artist Assistant’s duties include, but are not limited to:
· Supervising 62 teen employees during morning arrival, transitions, lunch break, and afternoon dismissal
· Assisting the development and facilitation of curriculum for Dance specialty, comprised of 20 Teen Leaders of varying dance experience, with Lead Teaching Artist and Junior Assistant
· Assisting the Flash Mob Teaching Artist in choreography instruction
· Facilitating community building exercises with Teen Leaders throughout the summer
· Assisting with supervising teen employees off-site during tour week (August 1-5)

The City Spotlights Leadership Program is a youth employment program that employs 62 Boston and Everett resident teens, with little to no arts access, to train as leaders in their communities through the arts.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Education, the Teaching Artist will create curriculum for and facilitate the Dance specialty, during which approximately 20 teen employees will learn dance techniques and develop original dance pieces for the Final Showcase. The Teaching Artist will serve on the artistic team for the Final Showcase, under the direction of the Associate Director of Education.

The ideal candidate should possess the following attributes and experience:
· Professional knowledge and/or experience in dance, with preference for hip-hop training/experience
· Working knowledge of proper dance techniques and dance genres
· Experience with choreographing and teaching dance for students at all levels

We are looking for experienced, reliable, enthusiastic teachers to teach Tap, Contemporary, Acrobatics and Ballet (a Vaganova background preferred). Ability to teach additional styles is a plus.
