We are looking for an instructor in our Urban and World Dance program. Responsibilities include teaching a weekly class based on traditional and popular dances from around the world in one of our partnering Boston Public Schools, and choreographing pieces in the techniques and cultural background of the dance styles from places such as Central and South America, West Africa, India and the Caribbean along with urban dance styles such as Hip Hop
Minimum qualifications:
BA in a related field (education, arts, etc)
3 years of work experience teaching
Preferred qualifications:
5 years of relevant work experience, including teaching, dancing and choreographing
Knowledgeable about cultural dances from places such as Central and South America, West Africa, India and the Caribbean
Experience working with English Language Learners and students with special needs
Reliable, adaptable and patient
Effective interpersonal, communication, and education skills.
