The 5-week outreach program was founded by Dance Collective as a means of bringing suburban and urban teens together with professional dancers and college interns to collectively create a performance that would tour to inner-city community centers and camps bringing contemporary dance to Greater Boston’s neighborhoods.

The first 3 weeks: intensive training, creating choreography, and working on performance skills. The last 2 weeks: the company goes “on tour” with performances & Motion Art workshops for kids 4 – 16; additional workshops with guest teachers; a meeting with BU’s Dean of Students. M-F, 7/1 – 19, 9am – 2pm; 7/22-8/2, 8am – 2pm

Audition: Sat., 3/30, 12-2pm; by arrangement if space available after that date. Needs-based scholarships readily available. Looking for teens proficient in at least one style and open to studying/performing other styles.
