2020 GALA POSTPONED IN RESPONSE TO Covid-19

Our community’s health and welfare is our greatest concern. Given the latest guidelines about slowing the spread of Covid-19, limiting large gatherings is the responsible thing to do.

We have therefore made the decision to postpone the 2020 Boston Dance Alliance Gala, originally scheduled for this coming Tuesday, March 17.

If you purchased a gala ticket or VIP package, your tickets will be honored for a new date to be announced, or please consider donating your ticket price outright by emailing BDA right away at dcash@bostondancealliance.org  We thank our partners at La Fabrica Central restaurant and the Central Square Theater for working with us and supporting the postponement.

The online auction is still on!  Please support our community by bidding enthusiastically here.  There are many great items donated by local businesses and our members, and many of the items do not have to be used right away. (We will ascertain whether tickets for cancelled or postponed events can be exchanged.) Keep in mind that other performing arts organizations and restaurants are part of our larger community and deserve our support.

The BDA Gala is always more than just a fundraiser; it’s a crucial time for us to come together, strengthen our sense of community, and honor dance leaders such as Margot Parsons and Myran Parker-Brass, who have made such a difference on our behalf.  We can’t wait to make that happen.  Stay tuned for additional information about a new date.

In this difficult time, our work to support the dance community is more important than ever. We will be talking with choreographers, dancers, teachers, and allied professionals, and are already in touch with cultural leaders and Boston area officials to help evaluate and address our community’s needs.  Please send your stories about how this current health crisis is impacting your performances, your studios, your work.  Drop a line to dcash@bostondancealliance.org.

Thank you for your understanding.  Please take care and stay well.
