Why Become a BDA Member?

Boston Dance Alliance is a member-supported organization. Your membership helps support our programs including onramps to dance and springboard for dancers.

From information about local dance events highlighted in our newsletter and calendar to BDA programming like Dancer Health Day and our Annual Celebration. Your support makes it happen!

Find the Membership That’s Right for You

BDA currently offers four types of membership levels. Choose the one that best describes your participation in the dance community.

DANCE LOVER: For those that love dance and want to support the local ecosystem.
INDIVIDUAL DANCER: For dancers, from recreational to professional, looking for opportunities, resources, and connection.
CHOREOGRAPHER / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR: For artists creating, producing, and presenting dance.
DANCE STUDIO / ORGANIZATION: For organizations looking to connect with the community and strengthen their offerings.

BDA is committed to offering high-quality and accessible arts services for all. As such, some membership levels offer three tiers. By paying what you are able, you help us better meet the needs of everyone in our dance community! There is no difference in membership benefits based on the tier you select.

Geographic Catchment Area

Boston Dance Alliance serves Boston and 21 surrounding cities (as defined by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council). These include the following communities: Arlington, Belmont, Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Chelsea, Dedham, Everett, Lynn, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Milton, Needham, Newton, Quincy, Revere, Saugus, Somerville, Waltham, Watertown, and Winthrop.

Studios + Dance Organizations

Tier 1 (Annual Budget <100k): $85 | Tier 2 (Annual Budget 100k-500k): $150 | Tier 3 (Annual Budget 500k +): $300

Payment tier is based on your organization’s annual budget

Fiscal sponsorship for scholarship and other charitable program activity
Discounted portable floor rentals for performances anywhere
Participation in the BDA Dancewear Distribution Program for low-income dancers
