Construction Zone: Performing Nonbinary Gender
Construction Zone is an interactive installation built out of chained yarn which grapples with questions of nonbinary performance. Everyone can rebuild our construction of gender to create endless possibilities!
Come any time between 1:30pm-5:30pm for as long as you like. Entrance is free!
Accessibility: Make Shift Boston is fairly accessible with step free access. **The emergency exit is not step free** Lighting is dim. The installation has both visual and tactile access points so everyone can engage in their own capacity.
The bathroom is gender neutral.
While the project is not specifically geared towards children, all ages are welcome to attend.
Construction Zone was created by Jo Troll, an aroace trans choreographer, art-maker, and blogger. Learn more about their work on their website at jotroll.wordpress.
This project is funded in part by NEFA’s New England Dance Fund, with generous support from the Aliad Fund at the Boston Foundation.
