Big Band Dance Party
Dance your way into the night at this capstone of our series of musical events at the Museum celebrating veterans, as we honor the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day.
After a short opening set of World War I themed music, swing dance to the big band sounds of Dan Gabel and the Abletones, an authentic 18-piece big band accompanied by the Moon Maids, a 4-piece all-female vocal group specializing in the music of the 1940s.
Don’t know how to swing? No problem! Our esteemed vintage dance instructor, Ruth Levin, will be on hand in the Museum’s Main Gallery showing us how to swing and slide like pros! No experience needed; just comfortable shoes. And as always period costumes are welcomed.
