EDGE explores the corner cases of human perception, rhythm, emotion and artistic form in four dances performed by Commonwealth Ballet.

In the premier of “Sirens”, choreographer Juliana Utz recalls the moments when Odysseus, at the edge of sanity, is tempted by the sirens’s song in the limpid blue waters near Capri. The company then revives the sharp edges of Monica Levy’s contemporary movement to Michael Torke’s challenging music, “Adjustable Wrench”. Chip Morris also presents the interior drama of two couples, mediated by “Love’s Shadow”. The evening concludes with all 22 members of the company and choreographer Denise Pons facing the challenges to the lyrical music of Ottorino Respighi by setting courtly dance against modern sensibilities.

Join Commonwealth Ballet in their 25 Anniversary Season for a performance of EDGE and enjoy a wonderful evening of ballet!
