LOOKING FOR: Do you want to perform more than just one weekend and really develop the choreographic work that you have been given? Andary Dance is looking for strong, athletic dancers for Modern dance project and multiple performances based upon the availability of the dancers to be performed throughout the academic year. Performance schedule starts in Boston in June of 2013. Rehearsals are in Cambridge.
ABOUT THE COMPANY: Andary Dance tours nationally with choreography by Nathan Andary, whose work has been described as athletic, stunning and viscerally pleasing. The movement vocabulary involves a highly sequential use of the entire body with polyrhythmic sequences and fluid energy changes and weight shifts. Andary Dance creates an atmosphere that is welcoming and diverse and does not discriminate according to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin or age.
Nathan Andary is a Laban/Bartenieff certified movement analyst and an experimental artist. Nathan is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Merit Award for Choreography from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA). Nathan toured with NYC based company; Pearson + Widrig and danced professionally for Liz Lerman and the Dance Exchange, Katsura Kan, the Salt Creek Ballet Company, Fusionworks Repertory Dance Co., and KITSUNEbutoh of Boston. Other performance credits include works by Gladys Bailin, David Dorfman, and David Parsons. Nathan's choreography performed internationally in Sarajevo and Canada as well as nationally in notable theaters such as: New York City's Center for Performance Research, Movement Research, and Merce Cunningham Studio Theater; Washington DC's Dance Place and The Kennedy Center; New England's Institute for Contemporary Art, Boston University, Mobius International Gallery, Brown University, and Rhode Island College. His work received funding from Toyota, Massachusetts Cultural Council, among others. Nathan is the program coordinator for New York State's Summer School of the Arts School of Dance serving directly under Carolyn Adams and has taught for the Univ. of Maryland, Providence College, Boston University, Rhode Island College, and is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at Ohio University School of Dance where he teaches Jazz, Modern and Ballet techniques, as well as Laban Movement Analysis and Dance Pedagogy.
Educational Background: Nathan Andary received his B.F.A. in Dance from Ohio University in 1999. C.M.A. from Laban/Bartenieff Institute, New York, NY 2010. M.F.A. in Dance from the University of Maryland 2012.

Calling all experienced dancers who love and enjoy Chinese dance! Audition consists of a led warm-up and choreography. You may optionally prepare a solo.
Dance Revelasian is currently looking for female and male Chinese classical dancers for it's Fall 2013 performance.
Regular rehearsals are every Saturday from 8-10 am at Green Street Studio.

Call For Choreographers
Elm City Dance Festival, formerly the Rebound Dance Festival, will take place at the Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School, 177 College Street in New Haven at 7:30pm on Saturday November 16, 2013.
All work selected for the festival must be 10 minutes or less in length. Your video sample must reflect the 10 minutes you wish to perform (no edits).
If selected, you must be available during the evening on Thursday (11/14) or Friday (11/15) for spacing and lighting; and Saturday for a dress rehearsal at 4:30 and performance at 7:30.

Kelley Donovan & Dancers is seeking performers for our month long residency at the Boston Center for the Arts in June 2013.
Our residency will take place between June 3-29th and will culminate in performances to be held June 27-29th. Work will explore the themes of transformation, destruction and rebuiliding and some work on the program will involve an intergenerational cast ranging in age from 9 to 76 years old.
