Represent.Cambridge: Sidewalk Movement

This audition is for a community performance project directed in conjunction with a local initiative to pass new election finance, ethics and trasparency laws in Cambridge. We're seeking a diverse group of experienced performers from both dance and theater traditions who are Cambridge residents. Rehearsals will begin the last week of February and be scheduled once each week for 2.5 hours at The Harvard Dance Center, in preparation for four site-specific subway performance installations scheduled for late April and May. 

The project's creative process will be collaborative and all performers will have the opportunity to contribute content and ideas. The performances will be modeled after The Federal Theater Project's Living Newspapers produced in the 1930's.

Cambridge residents who are experienced installation artists, sound designers and video artists are encouraged to submit work samples. 

All political views are welcome; only an interest in civic issues and open dialogue is required.

Seeking outgoing, dedicated and talented dancers for OnStage | Repertory, the NEW company under OnStage Dance Company, Inc.

Designed for a select group of advanced and committed dancers to collaboratively choreograph and perform new and original work to be performed at a variety of performances and special events.

Repertory work will mostly focus on Contemporary, Modern, and Jazz, with other styles likely to be integrated depending on the specifics of a performance. Dancers must have flexible schedules in order to work on both long- and short-term projects.

2015 Boston Cannons Dance & Promotional Team Auditions @ The Dance Complex, 536 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge

2015 Boston Cannons Dance & Promotional Team Auditions

Audition Process:

The audition process consists of technique drills (turns, high kicks, leaps) and a short jazz & hip hop combination.  After learning all elements, candidates will perform both drills and the combination in pairs for a panel of judges.  In addition, there will be a brief interview with each candidate during their final audition performance with the judges.

For Promotional Models: Dancing is optional. You will participate in an interview session with the judges.

 Candidates must bring the following items to auditions:

 - $25 registration fee; $20 registration fee for Veteran Members Only

- 5’ X 7’ photo (will not be returned)

- Complete registration form and waiver (waiver & application available on FB page & day of audition)

- Dance/performance resume (include work experience and education)

- Wear form fitting cropped/half top, fitted shorts/dance briefs, & comfortable dance/athletic shoes (tights optional). No street shoes are allowed. Hair should be down and hair and make-up should be performance ready.

 Audition Requirements:

Potential candidates must be a high school graduate and at least 18 years old at the time of audition (there is no maximum age). They should possess dance/cheer experience as the routine will consist of turns, kicks, leaps, etc. to highlight dance technique and training. The Boston Cannons are looking for a dynamic group of dancers, able to provide an exciting, high-energy combination of entertainment and crowd encouraging routines. Candidates will be judged on their technique, showmanship, enthusiasm, personality, personal appearance and fitness.

 About Us:

The Boston Cannons Dance Team is a professional dance team that performs at all Boston Cannons home games at Gillette Stadium and any additional league games hosted in Boston. Dance team members are paid for game day performances.

 The Boston Cannons Dance Team practices once a week for 2 hours (Monday 8-10pm) during the season (March - July) at DanceFIT Studio located in Natick, MA. The Boston Cannons Dance Team not only performs on the field at each game but also participates in on-field promotions and other game day fan activities. In addition, members of the dance team participate in various team & community service events throughout the season.

West Side Story Auditions

Hackmatack Playhouse, a summer theater located on the seacoast of Maine, is seeking strong dancers, singers, and actors for our upcoming production of West Side Story.  We are especially seeking Hispanic and Latino dancers, singers, and actors. Detailed character descriptions can be found on our website at


Performers should be be prepared to sing from the show, (from the music provided on our website) participate in a dance call, and read from the script.  Please expect to stay for the entirety of auditions. If you are primarily a dancer, please prepare the excerpt provided from 'America.'
