Martha’s Artist Salon at the BCA Call for Proposals
Boston Center for the Arts’ artist-led Salon Series, Martha’s is a community conversation, created to give Boston area dancers and choreographers an avenue to share knowledge about contemporary dance as it is practiced and presented around the world. Each session is led by a host who offers a short presentation identifying an idea or exemplar that they feel is important to understanding why dance looks like it does today.
We are looking for hosts for the fall season. If you are interested, please send a proposal listing:

Martha’s Salons take place at Boston Center for the Arts on Mondays or Tuesdays between 5:30 and 8 pm. Presentations typically run from 6:00-7:00 with mingling time before and after.
We are currently looking for Fall hosts on Monday September 12, Monday October 24 and Tuesday November 29, 2016
Past presentation topics have included Bill T. Jones, Ivo Dimchev, Percussive Dance and Merce Cunningham.
Dance with David Sun
Seeking dancers – F/M. Strong ballet training with some modern background. Must be available for performances 2016: Summer, seasonal/ongoing. Rehearsals on: Tues., 12:30-2:30, Fridays., 12-3 pm, Sundays, usually 1-4 pm.
Performances are paid with honorarium.
Audition by taking class with D. Sun, Tues., 11 am, at the Dance Complex. Ongoing. The Dance Complex 536 Mass Ave. Cambridge MA 02139. 3rd Flr/Studio 3. Class $15. If asked to stay after the audition/class, dancer will learn rep in the rehearsal that follows class, 12:30-2:30 pm. May also take co. class Fridays 12 noon, at Green St. Studios, 185 Green st., Cambridge, MA.

Off Beat, a new tap company under the direction of award-winning performer/choreographer Ryan P. Casey, is seeking advanced tappers who are interested in joining the ensemble for upcoming fall/winter performances.
We’re looking for dancers are highly proficient in tap technique, performance and improvisation; preferably have other dance experience, as well; and would be willing to make a commitment.
We have performances already scheduled throughout the Northeast on the following dates: October 14 & 21, November 5, January 5 (2017), May 6 (2017).
Company rehearsals are unpaid; performances are paid.
Prospective members should bring a headshot & resume (if they have one). The audition will be conducted like a master class; no decisions will be made on the spot.
Boston Bhangra Tryouts
We will be hosting tryouts for the Boston Bhangra Seniors Team and Juniors Team in June! No previous experience required.
The Seniors Team has been dancing and performing at events for more than a decade. We are one of the most established Bhangra teams in the Northeast, and this is a great way for you to get involved in our organization. This team has performed for events such as the WWE, First Night Boston, India Day Independence Day, Fidelity Investments, Bank of America, Raytheon, EMC, Burlington High School, Boston Harbor Islands and MANY more!
Our Boston Bhangra juniors teams is the only independent team in the northeast dedicated to Bhangra. Meet new people and have fun doing it!
BCA Choreographers’ Residency 2016-2017 Call for Applications
The Choreographers’ Residency program at the BCA allows choreographers to create new work by providing free rehearsal and performance space, technical and administrative support, and direct financial assistance to be used at the artist’s discretion.
Currently in its seventh year, this program adds a supportive system for dance in Boston and builds the selected dance company’s repertoire to increase the amount of high quality dance in New England.
This season, up to three dance companies will be invited to participate in the residency program.
Applications for all residency sessions are due on Monday, June 20th by 5 pm
