Since 1994, Boston Dance Alliance (BDA) has been supporting the local dance ecosystem by creating shared resources and forging productive partnerships to help dance flourish in Greater Boston. BDA’s aims include increasing access to dance for diverse communities, building dance audiences, and fostering the sustainability of dance locally.
Overview of Role:
- Status: Part-time.
- Structure: Virtual / remote.
- Compensation: $22/hour (less all applicable federal, state and local taxes and other withholdings required by law) for 15 hours per week. BDA’s pay cycle is biweekly.
- Schedule & Accountability: Flexible hours with a preference for weekday mornings whenever possible to overlap with the Executive Director, to whom this position reports.
- Technology Requirements & Access: BDA expects the Associate to use their own computer and phone, and BDA will provide access to internal systems as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dance Community Communications:
- Shape biweekly Pro/Motion newsletter (1st & 3rd week of month) and community Google Calendar advertising local dance events and opportunities
- Correspond with local organizations to create occasional E-Blast advertisements.
- Update BDA IG, FaceBook, LinkedIn and website 2nd & 4th week of month)
- Re-post BDA member events/local opportunities to BDA’s Instagram story
- Respond to inquiries at info@bostondancealliance.org account.
- Membership & Fiscal Sponsorship Support:
- Manage memberships including sign-ups, renewals, and cancellations; oversee and send digital membership cards
- Review and do due diligence on fiscal sponsorship applications. Save approved applications to Google Drive and to corresponding accounts in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Manage member benefits and donation links for fiscally-sponsored members.
- Enter amounts of grants and gifts received by check and wire into CRM accounts of fiscally-sponsored members.
- Send monthly account balance and donation reports to fiscally-sponsored members.
- Other communications- & membership-related duties as assigned.
- Relevant technologies: MailChimp; Social Media (IG, Facebook, and LinkedIn); Neon CRM; Canva.
Skills & Competencies:
- Clear & concise communication abilities.
- Customer service orientation.
- Research and data entry experience.
- Content creation & curation skills from newsletters to social media.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with email marketing software (MailChimp), graphic design software (Canva), and Customer Relationship Management software (Neon).
- Integrity and confidentiality.
