BDA is spreading the news about a critical initiative dance and in the arts in general.

The Mayor’s Office of Arts & Culture (MOAC)’s budget is slated for a 27% cut in 2027, which translates into a $1M cut of various arts programs.

We need your help to PACK THE HEARING CHAMBER with Boston’s artists, arts leaders and supporters and urge the City Council to restore Mayor Wu’s cuts to the funding for arts, culture and creativity in the budget.

WAYS TO ENGAGE:

  • SHOW UP! When we show up and demonstrate our support, decision-makers take notice. Attend the budget meeting on Thursday, April 30 at 2:00PM at City Hall. Sign up here to let us know you’re attending.
  • Sign up to TESTIFY! If you are a constituent of Boston (Boston resident), you can sign up at the hearing testify. This document includes information on how to format your statement (2 minute maximum).
  • SHARE this call to action with your networks.

Boston Dance Alliance has relied on MOAC funding in the past. Cutting the budget would only make it more difficult for us, along with thousands of other artists and organizations, to secure funding.
