Promotional flyer for Jean Appolon Expressions’ Pouvwa, featuring JAE dancer IJ Chan onstage in a bright red-orange dress. She balances on one leg with the other extended straight behind her, her torso arched backward, head tilted toward the ceiling, and arms reaching wide in opposite directions with fingers spread. Dramatic red lighting illuminates her against a dark stage background. Bold white text reads “Jean Appolon Expressions,” “Pouvwa,” “Nov 13 & 14,” and “Takeda Theater at The Platform.” The flyer also includes the Global Arts Live logo and a bright yellow-green banner with the organization’s website and phone number.

JEAN APPOLON EXPRESSIONS at Takeda Theater at The Platform

Boston-based dance organization Jean Appolon Expressions performs the world premiere of Pouvwa (Power)—an immersive evening of interconnectedness shaped through Haitian-folkloric dance, Afro-electronica, live drumming and visual installations. Pouvwa invites audiences to reflect on the misuse of power, and how we might wield it to imagine a world that benefits us all.
