Proficient child dancers ages 8-18 are invited to audition for a ballet theatre production of Ben’s Trumpet, based on the children’s book by Rachel Isadora. Our adult cast consists of Tony Williams Ballet Company adult company and ensemble. We have openings for 10-24 children including the pivotal role of “Ben,” a boy aged 10-14 with excellent jazz technique. Remaining parts will be 1930s jazz-focused presenting children playing on the street.
Audition choreography will be provided, you should not prepare a routine. No child younger than 8 will be considered. Not all auditioned will be cast due to the small nature of this show.
There are different time auditions for different ages:
Noon- 12:45pm (Ages 8-13)
12:45pm-1:30pm (Ages 13+).
Call backs at 1:30pm if asked.
Rehearsals: Saturday 3 p.m. -8 p.m, Sundays typically noon – 8p.m.
Show will be June 3-5, 2016 at the Strand Theatre in Dorchester.
