Dancer Audition for a commissioned piece by Palaver Strings in collaboration with local Dance Company, Vimoshka.
Choreography will be set to a live performance of two movements of Enescu Octet for Strings in C major. The evening’s performance will be two hours of live music performed by Palaver Strings.
Three performances are scheduled, one at the Rockport Opera House, Maine (April 26), State Street Church, Maine (April 27) and the Dance Complex (April 28).
20 rehearsals will be held from February through mid-April on Thursdays and Saturdays 4pm-5:30pm.
Dancers should be willing to participate in an improvisation-based collaborative rehearsal process, resulting in set choreography.
Transportation, lodging and meals are paid, plus $400 for participation.
