Circus Up Hosts 7th Annual Benefit Show Featuring Local and National Circus Artists and Dancers

BOSTON, Mass. Sunday, November 8th, 2026 – The nonprofit Circus Up is celebrating another year of using social circus to expand possibilities for youth with its annual benefit circus show Sunday, November 8th at Arts at the Armory in Somerville. The evening will feature local and national circus and dance performances, comedy, a circus scavenger hunt for kids as well as raffle prizes.

This year performers include world-renowned clowns Jonatas Campelo and Liam Gundlach, and a new circus show created and performed entirely by our very own Circus Up staff! The event will be brilliantly lit up by Illuminus! Chef Asia Mei’s Moonshine 152 will cater the event.

Circus Up offers inclusive, equitable access to circus education to Boston-area youth. It prompts its own youth community troupe, Kirkos, which features a team of remarkable circus artists age 7 to 16 from underserved communities. The troupe celebrates what it looks like to courageously learn, play, and create together. Kirkos performs bold and uplifting shows across Boston and beyond, from the Statehouse to street fairs and many festivals like the DSNI Multicultural festival.

Founded by circus artist and educator Leah Abel, Circus Up is Boston’s only nonprofit working to make circus arts more equitable and inclusive. In 2025, Circus Up was named one of four Model Equity Organizations by the Boston Cultural Council. Circus Up is also the recipient of grants from the Mass Cultural Council, DJ Henry Foundation, Jason Mraz Foundation, and more.
