Choreographer and former Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company dancer Heidi Latsky returns with body positive “movement installation” ON DISPLAY, in recognition of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. To commemorate the international event, Latsky will lead performers in more than 20 sites around the world on December 3.

ON DISPLAY addresses our propensity to judge people by their physical appearance. At the ICA, more than 30 local performers representing the dance and disability communities will place themselves on display throughout the building in this commentary on the body as spectacle and society’s obsession with body image. The performers draw attention to the complex relationship between viewer and viewed, an attention that permeates the everyday existence of people who are different in some way.

This performance is part of the ICA’s 10-day celebration of 10 years on the waterfront Dec 1–10.
