An Evening with Bill T Jones
Presented by Arts Trancending Borders/ Department of Thetre and Dance Holy Cross
Recipient of a MacArthur “Genius” Award, the Kennedy Center Honors, and two Tony Awards, the legendary choreographer and dancer Bill T. Jones offers a public lecture as part of a creative residency led by members of his Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company at Holy Cross.
For Jones, art-making is participation in the world of ideas. In this lecture, he reflects on his 40 plus-year artistic journey through some of his seminal works (Last Supper at Uncle Tom’s Cabin/The Promised Land, Still/Here) to the work he is embarking on presently, The Deep Blue Sea (loosely based on the character Pip from Moby Dick).
