On Nov 8th and 9th at 8pm ADB is premiering their ballet “Tales from the Crips: Reimagining Fairy Tales from a Disabled Lens”

They were inspired by the book “Disfigured” by Amanda Leduc which dismantles ableist tropes in fairy tales and discusses the impact on our understanding of the deaf/disabled community, who will be present in the audience for both days of the show and offer her remarks.

Audio descriptions will be provided (for blind/low-vision audiences), and captions and ASL interpretations will be provided (for deaf/hard of hearing audiences). No flashing/strobe lights. Sound variability can happen with a live orchestra and pre-recorded descriptions so they welcome folks to bring headphones/ear plugs if easily overstimulated. They also provide unlimited free/sliding scale tickets for live and live streaming audiences who can’t afford to see the work.
