Let’s Dance in 2023!

Somatic Partnering Workshop  with Ilya Vidrin & Jessi Stegall. This workshop for intermediate and advanced dancers will introduce the basics of Ilya & Jessi’s partnering technique, which combines dance with questions that challenge and enhance ethical interaction. This unique approach includes exercises that engage subtle elements of relational movement, including touch, proximity, shared weight, and mutual gaze. Masks required. Saturday, January 7, 1-4 PM, at Martin Hall at Boston Center for the Arts (Located on the 2nd floor of the Calderwood Pavilion).

Brazilian Zouk is a partner dance descendant of lambada, the music and dance style that swept over the world like a storm in the late 1980’s. José Cuadra will be teaching a more sensual, romantic and dramatic style of Brazilian Zouk. This is an open level course (beginner-intermediate) and you can lead or follow. Sundays 1:00-2:30 PM, Balance at Urbanity Studio, 111 W. Concord St.

Black Mamba’s Social returns to Todos! Black Mamba Dance Company is hosting another exciting Salsa, Bachata, and a newly added room for West Coast Swing and Hustle in the Metrowest that you do not want to miss out on!  All levels workshop followed by open social Sunday, January 8, 9:30 PM-12:30 AM at Todos Dance & Fitness Studio, 677 Worcester St. in Natick.

Boston Dance Theater (BDT) seeks versatile dance artists with strong technical, creative, and performance abilities for part time contracts for the 2023 season. BDT has immediate openings for the position of Core Member Jr, a 39-week contract with health, vision, and dental benefit package options. Core Members rehearse Monday-Friday for approximately 20 hours per week. Responsibilities include interpreting company repertoire, participating in company-wide professional development (assets for artists, anti-racism, and conflict resolution) training, facilitating company class, and serving as BDT ambassadors within the broader dance community during a time when Boston Dance Theater’s at-home activity is increasing and the company is preparing for national touring. Audition will take place on Friday, January 6, 9:30 AM at Complex@Canal (650 E Kendall St., Cambridge). Registration starts at 9 AM.
