Thinking Space Research Workshop
Thinking Space Research Workshop: With this research workshop we will create a space for questioning through movement and embodied consciousness. Drawing from improvisational methods developed by William Forsythe and The Forsythe Company, cognitive psychology, visual art, and architecture, we will seek to access a particular state of mind through physicality and attention. Each workshop in itself is a choreographed improvisation and is therefore different from the last. Central tools include meditation, long sessions of guided improvisation, phrase work development and deconstruction, and verbal dialogue. Interdisciplinary artists and scientists curious about dance thinking are encouraged to attend. This workshop requires 4 pre-registered students in order to run: bring a friend!
