Dance Date with Decent Dance
DANCE DATE is a dance-for-all program that invites participants to explore communication, trust, and creativity through contemporary dance with a family member, friend, or romantic partner. While this creative movement workshop does require you to Bring-Your-Own-Partner, you do not need any prior experience in dance or movement. Pairs can range in relationship: grandchild/grandparent, parent/child, first date (!), best friends, or more. Theater-based eye contact/focus exercises, ”trust fall” exercises, and elements of dance theory are employed to build trust and connection, while inevitably fostering a few giggles.
This event is part of the Friday Night Lights series and is held in Studio 7 on the ground floor of The Dance Complex. Beer, wine, and soft drinks are available throughout the event and you’re welcome to take breaks whenever you need.
