Brazilian master dancer Isaura Oliveira leads Yabás—Divine Feminine Forces, a bold, immersive experimental dance and ritual performance, featuring Power of Skirts and guest artists at Dorchester’s historic Strand Theater on Saturday, Nov. 22, 5-7pm (arrive by 4:45pm to check in).

This is not a typical performance—it’s a multisensory journey rooted in Afro-Brazilian spirituality with participatory activities, immersive installations, sensory arts, and more transforming the theater into a sacred, elemental space. The evening will culminate in an original dance by Mestra Isaura and Power of Skirts as we honor the yabás, divine feminine embodiments of nature’s forces. This event invites audiences to immerse themselves in natural energies, experiencing the power of nature through art. Yabás at the Strand is co-produced by Isaura Oliveira and J. Andrés Ballesteros.
