Boston-based contemporary dance company Boston Dance Theater (BDT) announces an open call for submissions from choreographers. The company will identify 3 choreographers from the pool of applicants for opportunities to create original work with BDT Trainee dancers during BDT’s 2024-25 season. The commissioned works will be performed in a studio setting as part of the Trainee Program Observation Day. The selected choreographers will participate in an intensive-format residency. During the residency, the selected choreographers will each be provided with 5 days with the trainees to create, develop, and set new choreographic material. The chosen choreographers will each receive an honorarium of $1,200. The top finalists will be showcased on BDT’s website and social media. Past recipients include: Maleek Washington, Roya Carreras, Cynthia McLaughlin, Jenny Oliver, and Levi Marsman among others.

Must be dance oriented Zumba certified instructor. Classes are Wednesdays and Fridays 9:00-10:00AM, and possibly Mondays at 8:00-9:00AM in Newburyport, MA. Pay is scaled by attendance. Presently, the classes are well attended and pay is ranging $50 to $85 per hour. Classes have a a devoted following.

Urbanity Dance seeks a part-time Development Assistant. The successful candidate will be a key member of Urbanity’s administrative team who helps manage the organization’s donor and partner relationships and its internal database systems. Reporting to the Development Manager, the Development Assistant will aspire to achieve excellence in the administrative responsibilities of the role while also providing outstanding customer service to Urbanity’s community.
Responsibilities:
● Serve as primary manager of donor databases Salesforce for Nonprofits and Classy
● Track donations and process donation acknowledgment receipts
● Assist Development Manager with drafting donor correspondence
● In collaboration with Development Manager, assist with planning and execution of
fundraising events
● Attend weekly Development Department meetings; follow up with team members to
ensure tasks are completed

Urbanity Dance is currently seeking a full-time Development Manager. Reporting to the Marketing Director and working closely with the Founder/Director and a Development Consultant, the Development Manager will oversee, manage, and implement all development activities for the organization, including individual giving, foundation and government grants, corporate sponsorships, special events, and more. The ideal candidate is a proactive, creative, and solution-oriented strategist.

It is a hybrid position with an expectation of 1-2 days/week working in Urbanity’s office (725 Harrison Ave); the candidate must also be able to readily commute into Boston, as needed, for in-person staff and donor meetings.

Salary: $50,000

Duval Dance and Music Academy is looking for a customer care specialist who has a love for dance, children, families and exceptional organizational skills with superior attention to detail. Candidate must be proficient at multi-tasking and have the ability to enthusiastically, patiently and calmly discuss schedules and class descriptions with potential and existing customers via phone or in person, have the ability to inform customers about policies and register students for classes and manage social media content. Retail sales experience is a plus.

Candidate should also exhibit exceptional patience in a noisy environment full of young children, their parents and siblings! Previously working in a dance studio is a bonus. You should have some knowledge of dance. Must be available to work Monday-Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Seeking a dance instructor to join Enchanted Dance Academy’s team as a part-time employee.

Start date is flexible- candidates must be able to commit to a weekly class schedule for our September 2024-June 2025 season, but there is potential for hours throughout the rest of our current season and summer 2024.

The ideal candidate will have proficient skill and experience teaching dance to all ages (2-18). We are specifically seeking a candidate comfortable teaching hip-hop, acrobatics, and ballet, but comfort and experience with a variety of dance genres is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in dance, dance education, or education (with dance teaching experience).

Starting pay is $50 an hour, with room for flexibility based on education/training and experience.

Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, an independent, preparatory school for girls in grades 5-12 is looking for an assistant varsity dance coach for the winter athletic season.

Prerequisites include training and teaching experience in modern and jazz dance disciplines. Ideally the candidate also has experience in pom routine work and previous dance competition coaching experience. The assistant coach will be responsible for running rehearsals alongside the Head Coach and attending all scheduled competitions, as well as having the opportunity to choreograph a dance piece for the season.

Mchale School of Irish Dance located in Woburn, MA is looking for an additional Irish dance teacher to join their growing school. They have programs varying from toddler and preschool children, beginners/ recreational to high level competitors. They are looking for a teacher who may be interested in taking on classes within any of these programs. A teaching certificate is not required; they will train you. Looking for someone who loves working with children and/or teenagers and would love to share their passion for Irish dance!
