Looking for someone with a diverse dance background. Classes are taught in all dance levels and styles. You must be certified in Dance through the Massachusetts Department of Education.

We are also seeking new, exciting Dance Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Substitute Teachers to teach children and teens (ages 2 and up) for our external Boston Public School programs and studio classes.
It should be noted that most of our students are beginner dancers but excited to learn. We invite high-quality teachers with a professional dance education background to apply, including teachers with a BFA, BA and/or MFA strongly encouraged to apply.

A generous compensation of $60/hr will be awarded for each teacher. Teaching assistants can expect to earn $25/hour. Current college and graduate students with a dance background are strongly encouraged to apply.

Looking for energetic and organized Camp Terrier Assistant Director/lead counselor for our Aerial and Dance Arts sessions which are part of the Family Recreation’s Camp Terrier for ages 8 – 11. There is one one-week session and two 2-week Dance Performance sessions. Must be available for all dates, M-F, July 8 – August 9 (8am-4pm).

Experience required:
– Three to five years as a camp counselor with a dance background or as a dance instructor
– Aerial or acro experience helpful but not required (aerial instructor will be on staff)
– Experience as a supervisor preferred.

Will need current CPR and First Aid certifications (BU courses will be available).

Hourly rate is based on work and dance experience and in accordance with standardized Camp Terrier
compensation. Range: $18 – $20 per hour based on experience.

The Winsor School is seeking a dance instructor to teach South Asian dance to a mostly beginning-level dance ensemble of 17 sixth-grade students from mid-January through June 4th, 2024, with the opportunity to extend the position through the 2024-2025 academic year. Classes are on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9:20 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. All genres of South Asian dance will be considered. Strong candidates will have at least three years of teaching experience. Must love working with middle school students and have excellent classroom management skills.

Compensation is between $110.00-$130.00 a class. Parking is provided.

José Mateo Ballet Theatre is seeking an enthusiastic instructor for Creative Dance classes (children ages 3-6). Teacher must have patience and a positive, upbeat attitude, and must be comfortable being responsible for young children. Reliability and punctuality are also necessary.

“Sip, Savor and Swirl” your choreography at Nacre Dance Group’s “So, You Think You Can Choreograph?” on 8/3/24 In Saratoga Springs

CALL FOR CHOREOGRAPHERS: Nacre Dance Company is accepting modern dance choreography submissions for their annual “So, You Think You Can Choreograph?”competition. This year’s performance will be at UPH (Universal Preservation Hall) located at 25 Washington Street in Saratoga Springs, NY. The theme for this year’s competition will be “Sip, Savor and Swirl” choreography that brings wine labels and descriptions to life as the audience samples wine paired with chocolate to select their favorite piece of choreography! The Department of Theater and Dance at Amherst College, in collaboration with Five College Dance, invites applications for a Five College Joint Lecturer in dance of Africa and/or the African Diaspora. The position is full time, with a term of four years, and is renewable at the lecturer rank, to begin on July 1, 2024. Candidates for this position should have expertise in African and/or African diasporic dance technique and dance traditions.
We will consider candidates with either a terminal degree (either an M.F.A. or a Ph.D.) or equivalent professional experience. Boston-based contemporary dance company Boston Dance Theater (BDT) announces an open call for submissions from choreographers. The company will identify 3 choreographers from the pool of applicants for opportunities to create original work with BDT Trainee dancers during BDT’s 2024-25 season. The commissioned works will be performed in a studio setting as part of the Trainee Program Observation Day. The selected choreographers will participate in an intensive-format residency. During the residency, the selected choreographers will each be provided with 5 days with the trainees to create, develop, and set new choreographic material. The chosen choreographers will each receive an honorarium of $1,200. The top finalists will be showcased on BDT’s website and social media. Past recipients include: Maleek Washington, Roya Carreras, Cynthia McLaughlin, Jenny Oliver, and Levi Marsman among others.

Must be dance oriented Zumba certified instructor. Classes are Wednesdays and Fridays 9:00-10:00AM, and possibly Mondays at 8:00-9:00AM in Newburyport, MA. Pay is scaled by attendance. Presently, the classes are well attended and pay is ranging $50 to $85 per hour. Classes have a a devoted following.
